Junior Programs

Girl Scout Juniors

Meet once a month to earn awards and learn about energy. We will learn about the many forms, uses, and misuses of Earth’s energy. During the journey the Juniors will explore the natural world and feel their energy rev up by visiting the wetlands and woods. We will also explore the renewable energy resources we have at our center—the solar array, the wind turbine and the straw bale house.

The Juniors will join forces to see what they can do to protect the environment by smart use of our energy resources.

We will follow the concepts and programs in the Get Moving! Journey book.

The programs are set for Friday evening from 6-9 P.M. at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center in Tiffin, OH.

Activities will include making recycled paper, beads from recycled paper, test the energy efficiency of various light bulbs, and do an audit of a building for energy loss. The Juniors will earn the energize award, the investigate award, and the innovate award along the way.
