Community Garden at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center

Welcome to the Community Garden — a peaceful, hands-on space where visitors of all ages can experience nature, sustainability, and connection with the Earth.
Our gardens are lovingly maintained by staff, volunteers, and local partners who share our mission to promote healthy living and environmental awareness.

Butterfly Garden

Our Butterfly Garden blooms with pollinator-friendly plants that attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. It’s a living classroom for learning about life cycles and the importance of pollinators to our planet.

Sensory Garden

Engage all your senses! The Sensory Garden invites you to touch, smell, and see a variety of textured and fragrant plants. It’s designed to encourage mindfulness and connection with nature — a favorite spot for children and visitors alike.

Outdoor Animals

Inside the FELC building, guests can meet our educational animal ambassadors! Learn about reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals that help teach lessons about habitats, adaptations, and environmental stewardship.
